Episode 136

Finishing is one of the most difficult things for me to do. Maybe it’s a fear of not being able to keep improving on something once it’s done. I don’t know for sure, but I’m embarrassed to admit that more than once I’ve left a project unfinished indefinitely. But there is one thing I do know: I really like to start stuff!

This episode is all about helping you establish a process of starting and continuing to move forward in your God-shaped dream. I said, “stop stalling” in the title because I know, just like my fear of something being imperfect at the finish line, there’s also a big fear out there of not doing it right to begin with.

That’s why I wanted to document a six-step process to help you get your dream moving forward once and for all or to help you keep going once you’ve begun. I asked a few listeners for their best experiences with forming new habits in the face of pursuing something bigger than themselves; those are included as well as some of my own suggestions for what helps improve your perseverance once you’re in the middle of the dream.

If “busy” has become your mantra, Stefanie Gass offers up a little real talk in this interview to help you plan out your day, prioritize what matters, and let go of the rest so you can finally find the time for your God-shaped dream. Host of The Mompreneur Mastermind Show, Stefanie loves helping women business owners step into their potential.

We can so easily get distracted or discouraged with where we are today because it is impossible to see where we’ll be tomorrow or a year from now or in five years. In this conversation, you’ll learn that the place you are right now is not necessarily your destination. Stefanie shares the steps she took and the roles she was in before she discovered her dream.

She teaches us the importance of getting to a healthy space – mentally, emotionally, spiritually – before you’re really ready to take on the dream. That might look different for you than it did for her, but it’s worth taking inventory regarding where you need healing before you take steps into your dream.

You’ll also hear her tricks for time-blocking and how to get out of your own way to make time for your dream.

You’ll find the show notes and all the ways to connect with Stefanie, here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/135

Rachel Pellegrino’s story of becoming a Christian children’s book publisher will teach you to look to your own passions and experiences—even into your grief and darkness—to discern what God has called you to do with your life.

When she was in the middle of grief, Rachel couldn’t have imagined what she would be doing today. At the time, her dream to publish children’s books wasn’t even on her radar. But a few business courses, a conversation with her husband, and some outreach to people in an industry she’d never worked in were steps that brought this dream to fruition four years ago.

God revealed to her that the dream was not too big for Him and that He had a plan and a purpose to grow Rachel’s faith and to flourish this dream for her good and for the benefit of others.

Her story is a reminder that it’s okay if your dream is not crystal clear from the beginning. And it’s okay if you find yourself fighting back uncertainty, fear and insecurity, like she did. You’ll hear how she did that and how taking the next step played a role in getting over those early start-up fears.

Let this episode serve as a reminder that God calls you to be who you are, right now, in whatever season you’re in and that He can use anything in your life, good or bad, to shape your dream.

Productivity expert, writer, and speaker Tonya Dalton joins us on the podcast to share her vision for helping women to center their lives not on doing more but on doing what’s most important. Tonya has recently published a book and launched a movement of the same name: The Joy of Missing Out: Live More By Doing Less.

This interview was full of value in an intentional, tight little package, shorter than most of our interviews around here. Tonya really knows how to make the most of her time and if you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed by your life, you’ll get a lot of out this conversation.

In it, Tonya shares how she uncovered her God-shaped dream to help women discover the goals and dreams they’ve pushed aside. You’ll hear why having clarity on your dream doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy. In fact, if you’ve been listening very long at all you already know that challenges will come no matter what.

Tonya reminds us that as we face those challenges, we can choose to grow in our dependence on the Lord or we can flounder because we feel out of control.

You’ll discover that no one has all the answers, even that girl with the perfect Instagram feed.

And you will grow in confidence as you hear her story about not giving up and the choices she made when she had no idea what she was doing. It’s a poignant reminder that you always have choices and can find your way through even the most daunting of unknowns!

Don’t miss your chance to enter to win a copy of Tonya's book, The Joy of Missing Out, over on my Instagram feed.

What is the biggest thing you’ve ever had to trust God for? It seems that the longer we wait for something that we desire but the result of which remains unknown, the more difficult it is to believe the answer will come or that it will be the answer we’ve been praying for.

I’ve met listeners who struggle with trusting God for the deepest desires of their hearts and that extends to their dreams as well. When something feels “too big” or “too scary” to tackle on their own and they desperately need God to step in, but He doesn’t, it can feel like broken trust. Or, at the very least, they wonder if the absence of an answer is an indicator of His trustworthiness.

I think most of us want to trust God in the big and the little things.

But I wonder if part of our inability to trust God has more to do with not trusting Him in the worst-case-scenario of what might happen. And in part it might be that we are holding too tightly to what we desire instead of listening for what He wants.

This episode is all about the three connected practices that can help you combat the mindsets of fear and doubt and, instead, go to battle against the evil one with the truth and power of God’s Word.

And as you begin to actively engage your faith muscles (even those as tiny as a mustard seed), you will see a growing trust for God, His goodness and faithfulness, within you. At least that is my prayer for you!

Nineteen-year-old Anna Sackett recently left the comforts of home to study midwifery as a missionary in the Philippines. This conversation, just a few weeks prior to her departure, offers us a gentle reminder that our hope and joy is not in having discovered our dream or even what’s next on our journey, but it is solely and totally in Jesus. The alternative is true as well: if you haven’t figured out your dream, you need only to look to Him for all you need.

You’ll hear from Anna why we can rejoice in our longing for something more in this life, the importance of steadfastness (what that is and why it matters) as well as the reminder that God makes us steadfast as we look to Him.

Anna is a recent homeschool graduate and the middle sibling to four protective and crazy-fun brothers. She secretly loves to have kitchen dance parties with her family, and to be creative with watercolor painting. She loves scripture and theology and, as an introvert at heart, finds joy in learning what it means to share her faith with boldness as a young adult.

Charlena Ortiz teaches us how she’s learned to trust Jesus as her sustainer, sought the unforced rhythms of grace in the pursuit of her dream, and discovered patience with herself and with Him in the process.

In this episode, Charlena offers a helpful question to ask yourself if you’re still trying to figure out your dream. And she explains how we might gain clarity on the lies we believe and, instead, turn up the volume on what is true—based on Scripture.

You’ll also discover how your dream can become a tool for personal transformation and why that’s so important. That rings true to my experience as well. I like to say that it’s not so much about what the dream is but about what God’s going to do with you in the process!

An introverted extrovert, Charlena has developed a conviction of helping women break through barriers. After studying Business and Marketing in college and becoming a certified coach with a focus on Positive Psychology, she moved to Silicon Valley with her husband and started her coaching practice. After years of coaching, she founded Grit & Virtue, a personal development company for modern-day women, a place where women can thrive from a holistic perspective.

While today her main focus is on taking the company to new heights, she also makes time to coach clients, speak, and write about all things personal and professional growth. Charlena lives in beautiful Colorado with her husband, boxer dog and soon to be rainbow baby girl.

If you’ve been putting off starting or kept your dreaming all to yourself or known you need to take a step, but you just haven’t figured out how to do that, this conversation is for you!

In this year of testing out monthly solo episodes, we’ve covered a lot about the emotional and spiritual journey of pursuing our God-shaped dreams. Today, we’re talking about finally getting busy and just taking steps toward the dream.

I’ve got a handy worksheet that will help clarify what your next steps might be. I’m also bringing some real talk about how your step might flop but also why that’s okay.

You’ll get a glimpse of what my baby steps were that led to me starting this podcast and an example of a step I took early on -- in the form of a goal I set for the show -- that didn’t have the impact I hoped it would and what I learned from that experience.

Lesley Pyle’s dream was born out of her own desire to be at home with her baby instead of reporting to a job. In 2007, she founded HireMyMom.com with a strong desire to help professional women find flexible, legitimate, home-based work.

Lesley’s story teaches us the value of not waiting until you have it all figured out before taking a step in the direction of your dream. She talks about learning along the way and how her passion made up for the expertise she didn’t have when she began.

You’ll discover how the solution to a pain point in your own life can reveal a God-shaped dream you might have to serve and support others.

She shares why it’s important to let go of the mom guilt, get out of your comfort zone and trust God with the path He has you on. And finally, to cover it all in prayer because He knows you, He’s for you and He is with you as you take the next steps.

To all the doers and dreamers, Haley offers the important reminder God gave her that “I am not my work.” This episode is a real and honest look at how we go about building our God-shaped dream and what to do when you aren’t sure how to begin. Haley talks about starting before you feel ready (and why it’s a good idea to just take the leap).

You’ll discover the value of trusting God with the outcomes, understanding your need for grace, finding your approval in Him alone, and allowing Jesus to change you from the inside out as you pursue your dream.

Hear why your dream has less to do with your skills, abilities, and desires and more to do with your willingness to be transformed in the process of pursuing it.

Haley also shares about investing time, money and energy into building a course only to get a “not yet” response from God about moving forward. Her vulnerability will draw you in and – I hope – help you remember that you’re not alone when things don’t go exactly as you planned.

Despite the difficulty she’s faced, Haley offers and holds fast to the advice to “start before you’re ready” because you never know what God will do with your obedience.

We’ve been talking about fear and what it says about our identity or, rather, how we’re placing our identity on something besides Jesus when we allow fear to stand in the way of what God created us to do with our lives.

This solo episode falls in line behind #122 and provides some next steps about what to do once you realize that you have, in fact, trusted in something beside the Lord to give you hope, wholeness, satisfaction or purpose.

There are three simple (I didn’t say easy) steps you can take to move past your fears and on to the dream God has placed on your heart. Listen to this quick solo episode to learn what they are and then join us in the Facebook Group to share what how you’re moving forward despite the fear.

This solo episode is tied directly to my last six solo episodes, which you can find listed in the show notes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/126.

This week’s conversation with Brittany Rust builds upon last week's episode. In this one, Brittany teaches us how she built a foundation of intimacy with Jesus by being in God’s word and through prayer, and she shares how those two actions plus the practice of listening and responding in obedience have grown her understanding of what God is calling her to do next. In addition, you’ll learn about the value of waiting on His timing – even when it’s difficult to wait – as well as what it looks like to let go of control and trust Him in the pauses, resets and redirection.

You’ll find the show notes and all the ways to connect with Brittany, here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/125

Have you ever wondered how to hear God’s voice? Or how to know if you’re on the right path? Or what He’d want you to do next?

Tabitha Bigbee, a faith-based life coach and founder of Every Day Faith, offers up grace-filled thinking on how to get in God’s Word every day so you can be transformed by it. She has established her own everyday faith practices and freely shares them with us, providing opportunities to strengthen your faith muscles and find clarity from the Father on what the next step toward your dream – or anything else in your life – might be.

You’ll hear how social media can get in the way of your success as well as the perspective shift that helps Tabitha reject the temptation to over-value numbers of followers or engagement. Finally, her story demonstrates how the solutions God provides for challenges in your own life can put you in the position to love and serve others with the same.

Through Every Day Faith, Tabitha supports women in establishing and growing their daily Word habit in order to recognize and obey the voice of their Creator and live their God-Inspired Adventure moment by moment!

Tabitha and her husband, Brandon, live in the mountains outside LA with their crazy but wonderful dog, Thora. Tabitha dances and teaches ballet, Brandon develops ventures and loves to snowboard, and they are both involved in leadership at their church. Together they have a vision to bring wholeness to God’s people through the healing of our identity and purpose in Christ. Also, they drink a lot of coffee.

Alia Joy is an author who believes the darkness is illuminated when we grasp each other’s hand and walk into the night together. She writes poignantly about her life with bipolar disorder as well as grief, faith, marriage, poverty, race, embodiment, and keeping fluent in the language of hope.

God’s power is made perfect in your weakness. We know the Bible verse, but most of us would rather run from weakness than embrace it. Years ago, Alia might have told you the same. She never expected to write a book about weakness, nor did she expect to wrestle with mental illness, but this journey has put her on a path to be a voice for the hurting, the broken, and the lonely. Her new book Glorious Weakness: Discovering God in All We Lack is meeting people in their place of need and giving them hope that they are not alone.

There were so many incredible (and challenging) takeaways from this conversation with Alia. First, she offers a gentle reminder that sometimes our dreams don’t include a checklist of things to do. In fact, we should probably question whether results are really the point of any dream. Is God asking you for results or is He asking you for obedience?

Alia provides an excellent biblical reminder not to fret, worry about, or covet what someone else has. This is especially true when you encounter others who are pursuing a dream that feels very similar to yours. Guess what? That’s not about you. If you feel you can celebrate someone who has a similar dream, then do so. But if you can’t without fretting, then unfollow, scroll past, and ask God to help you let go of those feelings.

In this episode, you’ll also discover the value of finding a quiet place to release the noise of the world. Alia talks about how there can be too much of a good thing (like reading all the books or, for me, attending every last webinar so I can make up for what I think I lack in knowledge).

If you’re currently feeling alone in your struggles or the pursuit of your God-shaped dream, I promise you, you’re not! I hope you’ll join us over in the Devoted Dreamers Insiders Facebook Group and get to know some fellow dreamers. We’d love to meet and encourage you toward Christ.

Who am I? is an age-old question. It is easy to respond with a summary of your roles, achievements, degrees, career, or job title. But I think we could all agree that those simple answers do not begin to explain who God made you, what passions ultimately motivate your decisions, or what you value most in this world.

If you know Jesus, the churchy, Sunday school answer about our identity is that we are children of God. But what does that really mean? And how do we begin to accept, much less understand and live out, our identity in Christ?

The best path I have found toward greater understanding about my identity in Christ has been to look at times in my life when I sought my identity elsewhere, whether it was a job, a relationship (or lack thereof), or even in the group of friends I hung out with. I only discovered that I had misplaced my identity in hindsight, looking back at seasons of my life where I felt emotionally crushed after losing something or someone in which I tried to find my value or worth.

Fear provides another clue about our misplaced identity. If we are afraid of taking a baby step toward our dream, that could be driven by a fear of what someone might think of us, or of failing, or of figuring out we aren’t up to the task. That’s why this solo episode is all about how our fears can provide clues to uncovering our misplaced identity.

In this episode, you’ll discover the value of acknowledging what drives your fears. But you will need to tune in next month to hear what to do about it. In the meantime, though, I’m challenging you to really look what you’re holding tight to and what, if you lost it, would crush you.

Please know that this is a shame-free, judgment-free zone. We all struggle to figure out who we are and where to find our value and worth. So many things in this world—not to mention our enemy—tempt us to believe we can find hope in something beyond Jesus. Even when we intellectually know that’s not true, it can be difficult to figure out how to live that way.

This episode might feel a bit like I’m leaving you hanging, but that’s only because the answer to this question is not one I can give you. Instead, I’m asking you to do a little digging into your heart and see where you might have fears that are driven by misplaced identity. That is, you’re putting your hope in something besides Jesus and it’s keeping you stuck in the same place.

There are a few episodes I mention that you’ll want to go back to, if you haven’t heard them already.

Writer, mama, and former silent-struggler Laura Harris shares her vulnerable story about the night on the bathroom floor when she realized that she was on the verge of depression and had to speak up about it.

Laura is a writer, mother of three, and Christ follower. Her words from the heart and parenting advice have been featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Huffington Post, Motherly, Scary Mommy, and Babble. She uses her faith, her passion for writing, and honest life experiences to encourage, educate, and inspire mothers to grow in their walk with Christ and in their joy.

This episode provides some real-world tools for dealing with discouragement, whether in life or as it relates to your dream. Laura talks us through her darkest moment—when she was on the verge of depression—and how God brought her through it with truths to help tackle the lies she was believing and actual steps she could take any time she finds herself in that place again. Laura’s honesty will remind you of the good that can come out of your own vulnerability about your deepest struggles.

You’ll learn strategies to add to your toolbox, including the reminder that “feelings aren’t facts.” Laura also teaches us, through her example, how to find the people who are struggling with some of the same things and why that’s so valuable, mostly so that you can stop believing the lie that you’re the only one who’s ever felt this way.

If you’re currently feeling alone in your struggles or the pursuit of your God-shaped dream, I promise you, you’re not! I hope you’ll join us over in the Devoted Dreamers Insiders Facebook Group and get to know some fellow strugglers. We’d love to meet and encourage you toward Christ.

Heather Boersma says the dream she is pursuing today wasn’t on her radar two decades ago when a pastor prayed it over her. Since then it has been a journey of learning, trusting and listening to God, faltering, and then remembering to trust and listen to Him again.

In this episode she talks about the importance of intimacy with God, especially if you’re struggling to make progress or looking for a road map with next steps toward your dream. What she shares will open your eyes to the significance of resting and trusting in Jesus.

You’ll also hear the best reason NOT to measure success via your results but rather in your obedience to God. She’ll teach us about the importance of our mindset as well as the power of agreeing with the truth God speaks over you through His word and not the lies of the enemy.

Heather Boersma is a speaker, author and life coach who loves to adventure with her husband Alex and their three kids Cohen, Claire and Byron. She has been speaking to teen girls and women for the past 12 years in Canada and the USA and recently published her second book, "Letters from a Big Sister". She loves hearing people’s stories, sitting by the ocean, and eating ice cream.

Not long ago I was asked by a listener to share on the podcast about how I came to know Jesus. Some of you listening who know me personally have probably heard at least a part of this story. For a lot of you, we’ve never met; you only know what you see (or hear) about my life as it is today. But that’s not the whole story—it never is.

What’s remarkable to me is that 25 years ago I would have either told you I was a Christian or that I didn’t need religion to be a good person—funny how those two positions could exist in the same person, but they did. The truth is, I was so far from God that it is only by His grace that I am here today, a transformed and redeemed person, compared to who I was then.

In case you believe otherwise, I didn’t choose Him; He pursued me until I finally reached the end of myself, gave up, gave in, and said, “Yes” to His most gracious and generous gift—Jesus. His death on the cross and His resurrection provided for me a free gift I could not earn and did nothing to deserve.

This bonus episode is a bit about the life events that led up to me receiving Christ and what happened in the years that followed as He continued to pursue my heart, heal the brokenness caused by my own decisions and rejection of Him as well as the wounds inflicted by others. He truly made me a new creation, just as Scripture, says, “… anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

For years I had been living in the muck and the mire of my sin; but nothing about it was “living.” I was really just surviving one heartbreak to the next, longing for a man who would commit his life to me and love me for who I am, even though I didn’t really know myself. Little did I know, I got exactly what I wanted, in perfect form, in Jesus.

If you’ve ever believed another person could make you whole or complete you, or if you’ve looked to people, experiences, adventures, education, notoriety or achievement to give you worth and value, you know that all of these things disappoint and fall incredibly short of those deeply held desires. Jesus is the answer to our hopes and dreams. He is enough. And, if He hasn’t already, He will complete His work in you, just as He is currently doing in me.

Thank you for wanting to hear my story, and I pray what you hear is HIS story and that He would get all the glory for what He’s done in me.

Fear is a common feeling once you start chasing God-shaped dreams, but this fear is not from God. We have a very real enemy to seeks to steal, kill and destroy you and your dreams. Thankfully, we also have a good Father in heaven who loves and cherishes you, and He wants to empower courage in you, especially in the face of fear.

In this episode, you’ll learn four strategies to overcome the fear and anxiety you feel related to pursuing a God-shaped dream. You will learn how to create your own plan, like I did, to take steps forward, despite your fears. Hear why it’s important to discern what is driving your fearful feelings and gain insight on trusting God to intervene on your behalf.

Fear is the struggle I hear about most frequently from listeners and guests on the show. If you feel fear about pursuing your dream, you are not alone. Don’t let the enemy tell you that. It’s a lie. Instead, listen to my story and decide, based on your own dream, what steps you can take next to stop fear from stealing your dream.

This solo episode is tied directly to my last four solo episodes. Check out the show notes for the Bible verses I mentioned in this episode and the links to those episodes here: http://www.merrittonsa.com/podcast/119.

Whatever your leadership role, this conversation with Esther Littlefield will teach you about fulfilling your God-given purpose despite the fear that threatens to cripple you or halt your dream altogether. Esther’s example of leading a bible study when she didn’t feel ready teaches us that you can use your gifts anywhere, whether in motherhood, a full-time job, or serving in your church or community. You don’t have to wait. Just start small, be obedient, and let Him bring the results.

When God calls you to something bigger than yourself, you might question whether you’re the right person for the job. You might think someone else could do it better. Fear is normal—we all feel it to some extent—but fear is not from God. If fear is creeping up on you, the next step is to trust God’s character, believe He is good, and know that He is for you and the dreams He’s given you! Listen as Esther Littlefield explains what this has been for her and then, find the courage you need to take the next step, regardless of how ready you feel.

Writer and host of the Christian Woman Leadership Podcast, Esther Littlefield encourages and equips women to embrace their God-given gifts, skills, and passions in order to lead with confidence. Esther is also the founder of Morningstar Media Services, a podcast production agency, helping entrepreneurs launch and manage their podcast so that they can focus on what they love the most. Never satisfied to do just ONE thing, Esther is a busy wife, mom, leader, friend, and entrepreneur. She combines her background as a social worker, network marketer, and blogger to help others achieve their goals in their life and business.

Creative business owner Laurel Smith had a dream about making jewelry before she even possessed the knowledge or tools to do so. Over the next 14 years that dream grew into the reality that is Laurel Denise today. However, its God-given purpose didn’t become clear to her until years later. Laurel’s story reminds us that understanding your purpose and calling takes time.

In this episode, you’ll learn about how, in that season, she also experienced a shift from achieving to slowing down so she could make space for her calling as a mother. If you’re a mom with a dream, you know that’s not easy. Laurel shares the secret of how she learned to focus her time and energy so she could pursue her creative dream of jewelry making and her passion and calling to motherhood.

Laurel Smith is the owner and creative director of Laurel Denise, a shop that creates meaningful, handmade jewelry, home goods and accessories meant to encourage, inspire and remind women of what they cherish most in life. Laurel believes in encouragement over competition and prides herself on selling kind, joyful, and honest products. Laurel started the business in 2005 and now employs four women in her studio and a few local moms in her town to help create some of the handmade jewelry while their kiddos sleep. In her limited free time, she loves spending time with her two kids and husband, reading the latest popular fiction novel, or listening to her favorite podcasts.

God has a plan for His people and His Kingdom; that means He has a plan for you and your life, too. You likely have a dream of your own, a passion that burns deep inside and makes you want to leap from bed in the morning.

Maybe your dream is a desire to change the world for the better, or make beautiful things, or teach others what you have learned on your journey. Whatever it is, God put it in your heart on purpose.

When that dream begins to bubble up, you might be so busy doing what I did – figuring out the next steps – that you completely forget to ask who your dream is meant to serve. This episode will coach you through a list of questions to ask yourself, journal and to pray over as you consider who your dream is for, because one thing is for certain, if it’s from God, your dream is not solely about you.

This solo episode is tied directly to my last three solo episodes (#107- You are a Daughter of the King and #110 – You Have Great Value and Worth, and #113 – You Were Created for a Reason) in case you want to listen in order.

Ministry coach Christa Hutchins is the woman you’ll want by your side if you’re feeling overwhelmed in managing the details of your dream. She loves to serve Christian women who speak, write or lead, helping them develop strategies to accomplish their goals and dreams. But even if you’re not that far along yet, don’t know exactly what your dream is, or are in a season of waiting on the right timing, Christa shares a few clues on what you can do when you have a dream, but it’s just not time yet.

In this episode, Christa offers a healthy reminder that we don’t have to define ourselves by any one thing, meaning that the silos we live in (single woman, mother, wife, employee, creative, etc.) may not be as segmented as we think. You’ll learn how to make the most of a season of waiting, like David did in the 20 years from his anointing to his appointing as king. You’ll discover, hopefully again, that you don’t have to do it alone. In fact, it’s better not to.

Christa Hutchins is a “doer-of-things” who provides ministry coaching and project management for women communicators and leaders. Her writing provides practical insight into moving your God-sized dream from vision to action. Christa lives in South Louisiana with her husband in their delightfully empty nest, where you usually will find her with her nose stuck in a book or sipping on a triple tall, non-fat peppermint mocha.

Entrepreneur Amber Brannon returns to the podcast to share how she’s grown in her faith since our last conversation in 2017, and how God has transformed her dependence on Him personally and in her business.

In this episode, you’ll learn the importance of being clear about who you are (and who you aren’t) as you pursue your dream. Amber describes what that process was like for her company, Copperheart Creative, and how it helped them discover the types of clients they love to serve. Amber teaches us what she learned from trying to control everything – including that it’s not possible – and how she’s letting Jesus take control, instead. Plus, there’s a tried and true sign that you’re not trusting God; she knows because it happened to her. Amber reminds us what it’s like when you try to go it alone, and you’ll be inspired to follow in her footsteps to find women who can walk with you on the journey of pursuing your dream.

Amber is a lover of people and Jesus, and a self-confessed coffee-choc-oholic who wants to unleash stunning design on the world. After much wrestling with God she quit her steady full-time job with no backup plan and started doing freelance design work. Today, she is listed among the Top 10 Designers in Tennessee, but experience has taught her that she can’t do it all alone. The best lesson she has learned since starting her business is to join other talented people who complement her skills. That’s how Copperheart Creative was born! Together, they are a team of creative entrepreneurs focused on branding, each specialized in their own craft, and serving businesses with heart.
